The supply and installation of 22 Daikin high wall split systems for the new building at Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School in Craigieburn. Supply and installation of 2 new toilet exhaust fans and 6 toilet exhaust grilles.
TBS Services Group is the preferred contractor for Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School. We quoted several builders for the tender process. The building was manufactured as a modular construction. A modular construction is a process where a building is constructed offsite, before being transported and assembled at its final location, providing a reduced build timeframe at the finished site. This modular construction consisted of 37 different mods, over 2 stories, with each mod to be transported individually from the manufacturing facility to the school.
The project consisted of the installation of 22 high wall split systems into each room in the new building, and toilet exhausts for the toilets also in the new building.
The builder who was awarded the project, Fleetwood. Their manufacturing facility is located in Bendigo, in regional Victoria. A majority of the rough in process was completed on site in Bendigo, which meant several of our team were staying in Bendigo whilst these works were being completed.
With the building being a modular build, it was definitely a challenge completing the rough in process when each level was built separately and each mod was put together, knowing that it was to come apart again for transport. We had to make sure that everything was fastened down and secured properly, as to make sure it didn’t get damaged during transport.
The pipework, drainage and interconnect cabling had to be run through the floor and through the ceiling space and secured and saddled properly to avoid any issues during transport.
This project provided many challenges, like any project, however the way the team handled the project and worked through living away from home and the travel, should be commended. The most satisfying moment is when you take a step back and see the finished project.
